Zwei M\u00e4nner gr\u00fcndeten die ersten Genossenschaften. 1862 gr\u00fcndete Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen einen Darlehenskassenverein, der heute als erste Genossenschaft gilt. Fast gleichzeitig gr\u00fcndete Hermann Schulze-Delitzsch eine Hilfsorganisation f\u00fcr in Not geratene Handwerker. 1850 gr\u00fcndeten B\u00fcrger den ersten &#8222;Darlehenskassenverein&#8220;, der als Vorl\u00e4ufer der heutigen Volksbanken angesehen wird. Der wesentliche Zweck war die Kapitalansammlung und Gew\u00e4hrung von Krediten f\u00fcr &#8222;kleine Leute&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p>1852 erhielt der bestehende Darlehensverein in Darmstadt den Namen &#8222;Volksbank&#8220;. Die Idee setzte sich durch und ist eine Erfolgsgeschichte ohne Ende &#8211; national und auch international. Heute noch nennen sich die meisten Genossenschaftsbanken Volksbank, Raiffeisenbank, Raiffeisenkasse, Sparda-Bank, Spar- und Darlehenskasse oder <u>V<\/u>olks- und <u>R<\/u>aiffeisenbank &#8211; wie die VR-Bank Westm\u00fcnsterland. Die Mitgliedschaft hebt die VR-Bank von anderen Banken ab. Oktober 1884 mit der Eintragung &#8222;Spar- und Darlehenskasse S\u00fcdlohn&#8220; beim Amtsgericht in Vreden gegr\u00fcndet. Die Kassengesch\u00e4fte wurden zun\u00e4chst im Haus des ersten Rendanten Franz Arntzen abgewickelt. Im Anschluss daran im Hause R\u00f6ttger in der Kirchstra\u00dfe bis zur Zerst\u00f6rung durch den Bombenangriff am 22. M\u00e4rz 1945. . Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde die Kasse vor\u00fcbergehend in der Gastst\u00e4tte Bennemann am F\u00fcrstenberg untergebracht. Im Rahmen des Wiederaufbaus der Gemeinde nach den Kriegsereignissen wurde ein Grundst\u00fcck an der Bahnhofstra\u00dfe gekauft und am 15. Oktober 1954 bezogen und war bis 1981 Standort der Kasse. Am 19. November 1981 wurden das neue Geb\u00e4ude am Nordwall im Zentrum von S\u00fcdlohn er\u00f6ffnet. April<b> <\/b>1925 eine Genossenschaftsbank mit dem Vereinsvorsteher Franz Schulten gegr\u00fcndet. Das Institut war zun\u00e4chst neben der Post in den R\u00e4umen der fr\u00fcheren Burg untergebracht. Am 6. Mai 1961 wurde ein zweigeschossiger Neubau an der M\u00fchlenstra\u00dfe eingeweiht, im Obergeschoss wohnte der Rendant Hubert Osterholt. Die Entwicklung der Kasse in Oeding war positiv, schon 1968 wurde mit Planungen f\u00fcr einen Neubau begonnen. Im Rahmen der kommunalen Neugliederung kam es jedoch zu einer Plan\u00e4nderung. 1972 wurde im Ortskern das neue Rathaus der Gemeinde S\u00fcdlohn und der Neubau der Spar- und Darlehenskasse verwirklicht. Es entstand ein neues Zentrum im neu gestalteten Ortskern von Oeding.<\/p>\n<p>Die Rendanten \/ Leiter in Oeding waren \/ sind:<\/p>\n<p>1925 &#8211; Josef Schoofs &#8211; Willy Pa\u00df<\/p>\n<p>1954 &#8211; Hubert Osterholt<\/p>\n<p>1974 &#8211; Erich Osterholt<\/p>\n<p>1999 &#8211; Gerd Hermanns<\/p>\n<p>2003 &#8211; Martin Schipper<\/p>\n<p>Im Fr\u00fchjahr 1971 schlossen sich die Spar-und Darlehenskassen in S\u00fcdlohn und Oeding mit der Volksbank Stadtlohn zusammen. Ein weiterer Zusammenschluss erfolgte am 31. Dezember 1996 mit den Volksbanken Stadtlohn und Borken. Mit der Vereinigung der Volksbanken Borken und Coesfeld am 1. Januar 2005 erfolgte die Namens\u00e4nderung zur VR-Bank Westm\u00fcnsterland eG. <span style=\"font-size: small;\">(Quelle auszugsweise: S\u00fcdlohn und Oeding &#8211; 2006 herausgegeben von Ulrich S\u00f6bbing)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mit rund 1.000 Instituten und 12.260 Bankstellen bilden die deutschen Volksbanken und Raiffeisenbanken eines der dichtesten Banknetze in Europa. Die VR-Bank Westm\u00fcnsterland ist ein Allfinanzinstitut mit allen Finanzdienstleistungen aus einer Hand. In besonderer Weise ist die Bank im regionalen Wirtschaftsleben verwurzelt. Die genaue Kenntnisse der M\u00e4rkte und der pers\u00f6nliche Kontakt zu den Menschen in der Region ist ihre St\u00e4rke. Mit dem regionalen Wirtschaftsleben ist die Bank stark verwurzelt. Der wirtschaftliche Erfolg ist verbunden mit gesellschaftlichen verantwortlichem Handeln und Engagement in vielen gesellschaftlichen und sozialen Bereichen.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u00a9 2017 &#8211;
