April 1353 wurde vom f\u00fcrstbisch\u00f6flichen Amtmann Johann von Bermetfelde die Urkunde zum Verkauf seines Haupthofes Oeding im Kirchspiel S\u00fcdlohn mit M\u00fchle, Burg und Geb\u00e4uden unterzeichnet. Damit war erstmalig urkundlich das Dorf Oeding erw\u00e4hnt. Aus dem ehemals befestigten Hof entstand im Laufe der Jahre die herrschaftliche Burg Oeding. Im Schutze der Burg siedelten sich in der Burgfreiheit, dem heutigen Burgring, Ackerb\u00fcrger und Handwerker an. Nach glanzvollen Zeiten der Herren Oeding mit den Familien von Gemen, von Viermund, von Keppel und von Mulert, verfiel die Burg 1839 in einen &#8222;Dornr\u00f6schenschlaf&#8220; und ging 1859 in den Besitz der Familie Pass \u00fcber, diese &#8222;weckte&#8220; die Burg 1979. Der Burgturm mit dem ehemaligen Verlies wurde in einen modernen Hotelbau integriert. Heute ist der Burgturm das Wahrzeichen von Oeding.<\/p>\n<p>Das Burghotel Pass heute ist kein typisches &#8222;Burghotel&#8220;, wenn auch der Name nicht zu Unrecht gef\u00fchrt wird, der Burgkeller und der Turm stammen aus dem Jahre 1371. Alles andere findet der Gast drum herum angebaut.<\/p>\n<p>Die G\u00e4ste betreten die R\u00e4umlichkeiten und sp\u00fcren die gegl\u00fcckte Verbindung zwischen einem zeitgem\u00e4\u00dfen Anspruch und historischen Ambiente. Die gro\u00dfz\u00fcgige Thekenanlage spiegelt auf den ersten Blick Gastfreundschaft wider. Hier treffen sich Einheimische und Hotelg\u00e4ste gleicherma\u00dfen, um in der besonderen Atmosph\u00e4re der gro\u00dfz\u00fcgigen R\u00e4umlichkeit ihren Feierabend zu genie\u00dfen.
