Am 7. Juli 1841 wurde die Errichtung einer \u201eSparkasse und Leihanstalt f\u00fcr die Stadt und Landgemeinde Vreden\u201c durch den damaligen Oberpr\u00e4sidenten von Westfalen genehmigt. Die sp\u00e4ter so genannte \u201eVerbandssparkasse zu Vreden\u201c bzw. \u201eSparkasse Vreden\u201c war damit eine der ersten Sparkassen in Westfalen und somit das \u00e4lteste Vorg\u00e4ngerinstitut der heutigen Sparkasse Westm\u00fcnsterland .<\/p>\n<p>Die heutigen Gesch\u00e4ftsstellen in S\u00fcdlohn und Oeding geh\u00f6rten urspr\u00fcnglich der Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Ahaus an, die im Jahre 1856 gegr\u00fcndet wurde. Im Rahmen der kommunalen Neugliederung der Kreise Ahaus und Borken fusionierten die beiden Kreis- und Stadtsparkassen Ahaus und Borken und die Sparkasse Isselburg zum 1.7.1978 zur neuen Kreissparkasse Borken. Im Jahre 2002 wurde die Verbandssparkasse Vreden aufgenommen. Im Jahre 2003 fusionierten die Kreissparkasse Borken und die Kreissparkasse Coesfeld und firmieren seitdem als &#8222;Sparkasse<b> <\/b>Westm\u00fcnsterland&#8220; . In diesem Jahr wurde eine Annahmestelle der Kreis- und Stadtsparkasse Ahaus im Haus des Textilkaufmanns Franz Vieth am Kirchplatz er\u00f6ffnet. Die Entwicklung war positiv, aus der Annahmestelle wurde eine Nebenstelle und 1954 eine Hauptzweigstelle. Finke die Filialdirektion in S\u00fcdlohn.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>des Textilgesch\u00e4ftes wurde im Objekt der Familie Vieth der erste gro\u00dfe Kassenraum eingerichtet und 1955 er\u00f6ffnet. Gleichzeitig \u00fcbernahm der Sohn Karl Vieth die Zweigstellenleitung. Weitere Erweiterungen und Modernisierungen erfolgten 1961 und 1969. Nach der Kreisreform geh\u00f6rte die Zweigstelle S\u00fcdlohn ab 1.7.1978 der Kreissparkasse Borken an. Einen markanten Schritt nach vorn wurde Ende 1997 mit dem Bezug der neuen Gesch\u00e4ftsstellenr\u00e4ume an der Bahnhofstra\u00dfe 4 gemacht. 22 Jahre &#8211; von 1985 bis 2007 &#8211; war der aus Legden stammende Sparkassenbetriebswirt Herbert Lenger der Gesch\u00e4ftsstellenleiter, gefolgt von Marc Woltering von 2007 bis 2009. Seit 2009 f\u00fchrt die Sparkassenbetriebswirtin Anja Homann die Filialdirektion in S\u00fcdlohn.<\/p>\n<p>In <b>Oeding <\/b>wurde die Sparkassenzweigstelle im Jahre 1959 in den R\u00e4umen der Familie Paskert an der Jakobistra\u00dfe eingerichtet und Ludger Hemker als Leiter eingesetzt. Bereits im folgenden Jahr konnte der Bev\u00f6lkerung an diesem Standort eine voll funktionsf\u00e4hige Zweigstelle pr\u00e4sentiert werden. Auf Grund der guten Entwicklung waren gr\u00f6\u00dfere R\u00e4umlichkeiten erforderlich.1981 bezog die Zweigstelle einen modernen Neubau gegen\u00fcber dem Rathaus an der Winterswyker Stra\u00dfe. Im Jahre 1996 \u00fcbernahm der Sparkassenbetriebswirt Hubert Buss die Leitung der Zweigstelle. Die Kreise Borken und Coesfeld sowie die St\u00e4dte Coesfeld, D\u00fclmen, Vreden, Gronau, Isselburg, Stadtlohn und Billerbeck haben ihre Sparkassentr\u00e4gerschaft in einem Zweckverband geb\u00fcndelt. Anders als bei einer Aktiengesellschaft haben die Kommunen kein Kapital eingezahlt. Sie profitieren von Aussch\u00fcttungen aus dem Jahres\u00fcberschuss und setzen diese Mittel gemeinwohlorientiert ein.<\/p>\n<p>Die Sparkasse Westm\u00fcnsterland mit der Filiale in S\u00fcdlohn und der Gesch\u00e4ftsstelle in Oeding ist nicht nur ein Finanzdienstleister, sondern auch f\u00fcr die Gesellschaft aktiv. Das entspricht dem Selbstverst\u00e4ndnis der Sparkassenorganisation. Die Sparkassen im Westm\u00fcnsterland haben sich von Beginn an f\u00fcr alle Schichten der Bev\u00f6lkerung als verl\u00e4sslicher Finanzpartner bew\u00e4hrt, das Gesch\u00e4ftsmodell ist nachhaltig. Die Sparkasse ist dem Gemeinwohl verpflichtet, sie unterst\u00fctzt B\u00fcrgerinnen und B\u00fcrger, Unternehmen und Kommunen und setzt auf langfristigen Werterhalt statt Gewinnmaximierung &#8211; und das seit 175 Jahren.<\/p>\n<p>Eine Besonderheit sind die Sparkassenstiftungen, mit denen das gesellschaftliche Engagement gest\u00e4rkt wird. Das Stiftungskapital bleibt erhalten, die Ertr\u00e4ge werden f\u00fcr den Stiftungszweck genutzt.
